Last May, I flew out to visit my friend Brianne in Port Moody. We spent the weekend hanging out, shooting a styled shoot together and I was her second shooter at a wedding. The wedding was at Camp Howdy and was only 10 minutes from Port Moody. As we drove down to Camp Howdy, we went though lush green forest and I couldn’t believe how tall the trees were. I’ve been to BC many times but you kind of forget how big the trees are compared to the ones in Alberta. The venue was like a log cabin and had massive windows all around it. I absolutely love windows! You get so much natural light in the building and you can over look the lake through the windows as well.
It of course ended up raining in the afternoon and I should have expected it being on the coast of BC. The rain doesn’t stop a wedding though, you pick up the umbrellas and keep going. Amanda and Bo’s family and friends were so nice and very welcoming as well. We ended up sneaking out during the reception when the rained stopped to do a few photos overlooking the lake. The wedding was great and it was great shooting a wedding with Brianne as well. To see more of Brianne’s work from Brianne Adams Photography, Click here!
The next day after Amanda and Bo’s wedding, we were doing our styled shoot. Before we headed back to Brianne’s place, we stopped off at Tim Hortons and bought a ton of Timbits to make our cake for the shoot. Which was a great ending to the day too!
