Their Wedding Day

I’m not sure if you have ever driven up to Athabasca in the Fall time but it is stunning! The entire drive is gorgeous and before you know if you in Athabasca and it makes this Athabasca Wedding Photographer very happy! My second shooter, Rhiannon met up with the boys in the morning and I was at Sarah’s parent’s house while the girls got ready. The girls just hung out with one another as they took turns to have their makeup and hair done. While Sarah was getting her makeup done, a pest flew through the window to join everyone. It ended up clearing the room except for Sarah. Who stood up and took care of it and then went back to getting her makeup finished. She wasn’t going to let any bug or anything stop her on her wedding day!

Sarah and Josh’s ceremony was outside at the Athabasca Reformed Church. They were surrounded by the beautiful Fall colors and of course their friends and family, as they said “I Do” to one another. Before the ceremony had started, there were a few deer that were hanging nearby. Then we spotted them again at a different location and then again at another location. Which was kinda sweet to see so many deer during their beautiful day! We did a few photos in a few different locations but ended up at Sarah’s brothers home. Which I understood as soon as we pulled up why they would want photos done there. So many amazing spots on his property and we even had a couple of his cats join us for a couple of photos. You can spot them in one of the bridal party photos below!

Sarah and Josh

Sarah and Josh are the kind of couple that make you instantly feel comfortable while you’re around them. They’ve both pursued their dreams on their own paths and as well as together. They are beautiful, loving, kind and most of all they are finally husband and wife now! Now I’ve been to my fair share of weddings and had thought I had seen it all. There were a few things that happened at the reception that I have never seen before. Usually the MC’s call out the different tables to go and eat. But to start things off, they had the best man come up to the front. The first single lady to come up and plant a kiss on him got to go first for dinner. I don’t think the best man was expecting this but the entire room filled with laughter and there is no better way to start off the night than that! There was also a kissing contest and whoever did the best kiss in the room got a prize to take home. I’ve never seen so many smiles happen in a room. It was pretty amazing!

Congrats again to Sarah + Josh! I wish you both all the best and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the two of you!
