Lake Minnewanka Engagement Session |Alysia and Reid

It was so great getting to meet up with Alysia and Reid for their Lake Minnewanka engagement session. We were a little surprised at how cold it was when we first arrived but these two toughed it out for photos. They have never had photos done and I was so happy to be able to capture these two!

How they met

Reid and I met in my first year of my undergrad and his last. The first time we met was at a group bowling event where a mutual friend was actually trying to get to know my roommate and we were just there as extra people! We didn’t think much of it at the time. The next semester Reid ended up moving in with that same mutual friend (my neighbour!) From there we don’t really know how it happened but we became instant best friends – we swore that was it, nothing more. It wasn’t until I moved home for the summer that we realized we were more than friends. The rest is history and 8 years later we can’t wait to be getting married next year!

What are some of your favourite activities to do together?

Some of our favorite things to do together include spending time with our dog Pippa, hitting the driving range, indulging in Una – followed by Village ice cream for dessert, and just snuggling up watching movies or Sunday football. We always have an annual Harry Potter and/or Lord of the Rings marathon!

What is something that makes you laugh when you are together?

Whenever Reid and I decide to play Nintendo it always ends in laughter – usually because I get a bit too intense for the situation at hand and Reid needs to reign in his little 5ft spit fire! It’s not something we do often but it’s always a good time!
