Wedding Rings: My Favourite Shots And The How To

Dec 20

One of my favourite things to shoot is the details of the weddings. I love being able to capture the jewellery, the flowers, the rings(obviously) and all those special details. I always shoot the details of the day with my macro lens. I have a Nikon 105mm 2.8 lens. It allows me to get super close to the object i’m shooting! You can still do really great detail shots without a macro as well. For example, the Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens is another one of my favourite  go to lenses, but you have to be at least a foot and a half away from your subject to focus.  Usually that’s plenty of space, but when you’re shooting something so small, you want to get in close and show of the details of what your shooting.  Macro lenses are specifically designed to shoot at close range.

ERINSWEETPHOTOGRAPHY Ring PhotoI usually do limited editing on my detail shots. The main thing I do for rings is desaturate the diamond and then add some brightness. I find there is always some colour reflecting in the diamond from what ever is in the background. Here are a few more of favourite shots I’ve taken!
