I met Julie many years ago while we were both serving at a local restaurant. I was very honoured when she asked me to photograph her wedding day! Julie and Michael met one night out for dinner with friends. Julie’s friend she worked with introduced them the night they went out. The rest is history now! I met the girls at Julie and Michael’s home to do the getting ready photos. The girls were helping one another get ready while drinking mimosas. I absolutely loved their robes they all had one and especially Julie’s. Loved that Julie’s robe had “Wifey” on it! After getting ready we all headed to the Shaw Conference Centre to see these two tie the knot!
We headed down to Louise Mckinney park after their ceremony to take some photos. Part of the park was under construction but we made the best of it. After taking a few fun photos with the bridal party, they headed back to the reception. I was able to step back to let them just have time to breathe, time to celebrate being husband and wife…. Even if it was just for a few minutes. Time so many couples don’t get because of the busy-ness of their day. Julie and Michael look at one another so lovingly. You can just tell how happy these two are together with one another!
We cut taking photos pretty close to when these two had to make their grand entrance into their wedding. The room had a ton of natural light coming through the wall of windows and also a patio deck everyone enjoyed though out the evening. The speeches were very heartfelt but also had everyone cracking up and laughing. Especially Michael’s best man Frank, who had everyone stand up and raise their hands above their head. Then took a photo as evidence of everyone on their feet and looking like they were clapping after his speech. Everyone was very confused until he explained it… after he took the photo of course! After the first dances, the three of us snuck out to go take a few photos during the sunset. Turned out to be some of my favourites from their wedding. The rest of the evening was filled with dancing, laughter and fun!
Thank you so much for having me at your wedding! I loved every minute I got to spend at your beautiful wedding and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
