Find the BEST Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Erin Sweet

As an Edmonton wedding photographer and someone who believes in true love, I take my job as your professional Edmonton wedding photographer or Calgary wedding photographer extremely seriously. When you're searching for the best wedding photographer in Edmonton, Calgary, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, or Spruce Grove there are all sorts of factors to consider and all sorts of professional photographers to potentially hire. But, not all wedding photographers are created equal.

I have three tips that I ask all of my couples to consider when in search of the best Edmonton wedding photographer or best Calgary wedding photographer for them. Whether you are shopping local or taking your wedding to a destination worldwide, these tips should always be applicable. As a local Edmonton wedding photographer who does love to travel, I encourage my couples to find a local photographer whom they love and trust to travel with them as their destination wedding photographer. Often times there may be a communication barrier if you select a destination wedding photographer who resides in the destination you are traveling to. I would find it much easier to sleep at night if I could physically visit my wedding photographer's location of business at the end of the day as opposed to calling an international phone number in search of my wedding photos. Just something to consider when you're looking for a reliable destination wedding photographer.

If you are shopping locally and planning a local Edmonton wedding or Calgary wedding and in search of an Edmonton wedding photographer here are a few tips that I think all couples should consider before investing.

1. Style
It's not uncommon for me to hear couples say, "I absolutely love your photos but I found a photographer whose style I don't love quite as much who is less expensive." When it comes to style, I strongly encourage couples to find the Edmonton wedding photographer or Calgary wedding photographer whose photographic style they absolutely love. This is a major factor in determining whether or not you will love and adore your photos at the end of the photography process. You have the unique opportunity when you're shopping for an Edmonton wedding photographer to CHOOSE the photographer that you love.

At the end of the day, if you're left with wedding photos that you don't love, there isn't much you can do about it then. SO, when you're in search of the best Edmonton wedding photographer pay close attention to their stylistic approach. Every wedding photographer's stylistic approach is unique from one photographer to the next. Don't hesitate to ask for entire wedding collections from start to finish so that you can get a solid idea of exactly how they compost and post produce their images.

2. Personality
Much like style, each Edmonton wedding photographer's personality is completely unique from one to the next. Keep in mind that you will be spending the majority of your wedding day with your wedding photographer. No one wants to spend such an important day with a person that they absolutely can't stand or who drives them crazy or who is just plain unprofessional. When you talk with your wedding photographer make sure you have a good grasp on their personality and how they may function during your wedding day.

It's likely that your professional wedding photographer will be spending time interacting with your friends and family as well as other vendors. For this reason, choosing an Edmonton or Calgary wedding photographer whose personality you love and trust becomes a major factor in determining the flow of your day.

3. Budget
Of course we all have an idea of what we would like to spend on items that we are investing in. Unlike many of the other items that you will choose for your wedding day, your wedding photography will be the one tangible item that you carry with you for the rest of your life. With that in mind, your wedding photos, after the wedding, will be priceless. You would have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to do them over again. With that in mind, paying a little more up front to guarantee that you have the outcome that you want may be in your best interest. How important are your photos to you? That is a question that I ask all of my couples to consider. If you just had a handful of photos that you liked and you saved some money would you be ok with that? What if you had more photos than you knew what to do with and you loved all of them but had to pay a little more to have that outcome, would you?

Consider a photographer's style. Do you love it? Do you want to look at it for the rest of your life?
Consider a photographer's personality. Do you enjoy it?
If you answer yes to both of those questions then figure out how to fit them into your budget. Make room in other areas that may be less important at the end of the day.
